In 2020 as a result of lock down we launched a range of Online Exercise Sessions with our physiotherapists.  Little did we know just how successful they would be to allow clients to stay connected, keep on top of their injuries and exercise in the convenience of their own homes.

Telehealth is having a remote consultation with your practitioner, without attending the clinic face-to-face. It has become an increasingly preferred option during the COVID-19 pandemic, but has been used in healthcare for many years, and is proven to be a very effective tool and method of consultation.

Louise Hateley – Director and Physiotherapist at In Stride Health Clinic

Louise Hateley – Director / Physiotherapist

Louise has been working as a physiotherapist for over 20 years.  Throughout the early stages of her career, she used her profession to experience a wide scope of health settings ranging from working with a predominantly remote aboriginal client base in the Physiotherapy Rehabilitation Centre at the Royal Darwin Hospital, through to spending several years as a physiotherapist at the National Sports Centre in London where she worked with elite athletes including the British Diving Team and London Towers basketball teams.

Louise has always been a runner and a fitness enthusiast herself, and her passion in her career was the ability to use her skills and knowledge to help her clients reach their full potential and achieve their goals.  After settling in Ascot Vale and having three children of her own, Louise’s professional focus switched to helping women maintain fitness and health throughout the journey of pregnancy and motherhood.  She moved into Womens Health Physiotherapy and Pelvic Floor management with an emphasis on rehabilitating women following pregnancy and birth using pilates, exercise and pelvic floor strengthening.

She is passionate about increasing “womens health talk” and normalising these discussions about issues such as prolapse and incontinence so that women don’t have to feel that they need to hide something that affects most women and can be treated.

Lou also runs our GLA:D exercise groups, which is a program designed to help people with Osteoarthritis to reduce pain and improve functions. She is passionate about women's health at all stages and uses this to guide the team to deliver excellent service.

Kath Miller, Podiatrist and Director at Instride Health Clinic

Kathryn Miller – Director / Podiatrist

Kath is a podiatrist with over twenty years clinical experience.  A graduate of La Trobe University, Kath’s career has spanned over elite/international sports teams (in Australia and England), working with disadvantaged and homeless communities in the public sector, research, and supervising students.

Kath has mixed her clinical work with management as a Director of In Stride since 2007 and for many years leading a podiatry team in community health. Having worked with North Melbourne and Carlton AFL clubs, the London Towers basketball team and other international level athletes, Kath maintains a strong interest in sporting injuries and biomechanics.  She has also worked in the paediatric setting for many years and loves helping young children with foot or foot related conditions (her inspiration for being a podiatrist came from seeing one as a child herself for shin splints).

Kath is available two days a week for appointments and does this in conjunction with her work as a Director at In Stride and looking after her two small children.

Outside of work, Kath loves travelling, cooking, good food and wine and being in the great outdoors.
