Podiatry is the profession that specialises in assessing, diagnosing, treating and rehabilitating foot conditions and musculoskeletal disorders relating to foot posture and lower limb biomechanics. Podiatry can often assist with pain or injury to the foot, heel, ankle, shins, legs, knees, hips and sometimes the lower back.
We offer podiatry for all ages, from children through to the elderly. Treatment can include:
- strapping/padding of shoes
- injury management including stretches/exercises
- footwear advice and prescription
- biomechanical assessment of foot posture and function
- orthotic prescription (from temporary arch supports to custom made moulded orthotics)
- general foot care including treatment of all nail and skin conditions
- nail surgery for ingrown nails
- diabetes foot assessments of circulation and sensation
orthotics/arch suports
Orthotics are arch supports for shoes that are designed to support the foot whilst improving function and posture of the feet and lower limbs. Orthotics may also offer pressure relief and shock absorption. Our podiatrists perform biomechanical assesments to analyse your walking/running style and posture. We offer a range of orthotic options from off the shelf devices through to very specialised custom made orthotics. We also stock a range of orthotics and medical thongs with built in arch supports
