Our Story

Louise and I first worked together from 2003 – 2006 at the London National Sports Centre. This clinic was an amazing place to work. We had a highly motivated team that worked together in an open plan space with multiple services, gym and pool facilities. Our clinical team were lucky enough to work with international level athletes including the British Athletics, Weightlifting and Diving teams and London Towers basketball team.

In 2007 I had just arrived off the plane back in Melbourne and touched base with Louise to “catch up”. Louise had also recently moved to Ascot Vale in Melbourne as her husband and close mate Hamish had just taken over a small run-down greengrocer (now known as The Happy Apple). Louise suggested that we investigate the newly refurbished Ascot Vale Leisure Centre as a space that we could open a clinic of our own.

Only one week later, we submitted a tender to council for the right to run a clinic out of the Ascot Vale Leisure Centre. We wanted to replicate the clinic concept from working at the London National Sports Centre where clients could receive the care needed to get them back to their sport or activity with a coordinated team of practitioners. Our tender was called “Blah Clinic” because in the short timeframe of getting the Expression of Interest together, we couldn’t come up with a reasonable clinic name (true story!). Over the next few months, our dream was realised and In Stride Health Clinic opened for business in September 2007. In 2011 we extended our space by purchasing a little shop on Union Road in Ascot Vale. Here we set up In Stride Clinical Pilates Studio which is a boutique/friendly space that uses exercise rehabilitation to help manage injuries.

Over the past twelve years, we have been privileged to have amazing staff and an incredibly loyal customer base. We both live locally and truly feel part of a special community. We have both been lucky enough to start our own families, with 5 children between us over the past 12 years!

Our passion and vision, is to continue to adapt our business to provide the highest quality, family friendly allied health services in the local area.
