In Stride has been proudly providing high quality, evidence based allied health services to the Ascot Vale and surrounding areas since 2007. In 2021, we expanded into our modern and spacious allied health hub at Shop 1, 2-6 Epsom Rd, Ascot Vale (5 consultation rooms, exercise rehabilitation gym, class space, and clinical pilates studio).
We are passionate about working with you to support your health, sporting and injury needs through your entire journey - from assessment, diagnosis, treatment/rehabilitation and prevention. Our facilities and our team ,who work together under the one roof, enable you to complete your full treatment and rehabilitation with us.
Our Services
Our team of highly skilled physiotherapists can provide you with a diagnosis of your injury and work with you to develop a tailored management plan which will enable you to reach your goals and prevent future injuries.
Pelvic floor & continence physiotherapists have undergone specialist Post Graduate training to become experts in the management of all conditions related to pelvic floor and continence.
Our podiatrists are university qualified health professionals who specialise in diagnosing, treating and preventing foot/lower limb conditions or foot related problems that can sometimes extend from underlying health issues (including diabetes and musculoskeletal diseases such as arthritis).
What sets In Stride Health Clinic apart from many other clinics is our purpose built rehabilitation and pilates studio. Your treatment will go beyond simply hands on treatment to include an exercise and rehabilitation program designed specifically for you by your physiotherapist.
A Myotherapist is a trained allied health professional registered with a nationally recognised assoiatio who treats muscle and joint-related pain and dysfunction.
Massage is often viewed as a luxury – however there are many studies, which now prove the benefits of regular massage beyond the initial relaxation.
Your rehabilitation plan will be as unique as your situation and will encompass a Return to Work or Return to Sport process and treatment goals aimed at facilitating your recovery and work capacity.
Pregnancy is an exciting and sometimes daunting time in which your body will undergo many changes. We understand this journey, with many of our practitioners having personal experience in it.
Dietitians are medical professionals who provide expert nutrition advice to people of all ages and help people understand the relationship between food and health.
The buoyancy of the water enables an exercise program when weight bearing is otherwise prohibited, for example after surgery or painful arthritic conditions.
In 2020 as a result of lock down we launched a range of Online Exercise Sessions with our physiotherapists. Little did we know just how successful they would be to allow clients to stay connected, keep on top of their injuries and exercise in the convenience of their own homes.
Telehealth is having a remote consultation with your practitioner, without attending the clinic face-to-face. It has become an increasingly preferred option during the COVID-19 pandemic, but has been used in healthcare for many years, and is proven to be a very effective tool and method of consultation.

We welcome you to join the In Stride community and thank you for entrusting us to support you to work towards
your health and wellbeing goals
Louise Hateley – Director / Physiotherapist
Louise has been working as a physiotherapist for over 20 years. Throughout the early stages of her career, she used her profession to experience a wide scope of health settings ranging from working with a predominantly remote aboriginal client base in the Physiotherapy Rehabilitation Centre at the Royal Darwin Hospital, through to spending several years as a physiotherapist at the National Sports Centre in London where she worked with elite athletes including the British Diving Team and London Towers basketball teams.
Louise has always been a runner and a fitness enthusiast herself, and her passion in her career was the ability to use her skills and knowledge to help her clients reach their full potential and achieve their goals. After settling in Ascot Vale and having three children of her own, Louise’s professional focus switched to helping women maintain fitness and health throughout the journey of pregnancy and motherhood. She moved into Womens Health Physiotherapy and Pelvic Floor management with an emphasis on rehabilitating women following pregnancy and birth using pilates, exercise and pelvic floor strengthening.
She is passionate about increasing “womens health talk” and normalising these discussions about issues such as prolapse and incontinence so that women don’t have to feel that they need to hide something that affects most women and can be treated.
Lou also runs our GLA:D exercise groups, which is a program designed to help people with Osteoarthritis to reduce pain and improve functions. She is passionate about women's health at all stages and uses this to guide the team to deliver excellent service.
Kathryn Miller – Director / Podiatrist
Kath is a podiatrist with over twenty years clinical experience. A graduate of La Trobe University, Kath’s career has spanned over elite/international sports teams (in Australia and England), working with disadvantaged and homeless communities in the public sector, research, and supervising students.
Kath has mixed her clinical work with management as a Director of In Stride since 2007 and for many years leading a podiatry team in community health. Having worked with North Melbourne and Carlton AFL clubs, the London Towers basketball team and other international level athletes, Kath maintains a strong interest in sporting injuries and biomechanics. She has also worked in the paediatric setting for many years and loves helping young children with foot or foot related conditions (her inspiration for being a podiatrist came from seeing one as a child herself for shin splints).
Kath is available two days a week for appointments and does this in conjunction with her work as a Director at In Stride and looking after her two small children.
Outside of work, Kath loves travelling, cooking, good food and wine and being in the great outdoors.
Pauline Crawford - Administration
Pauline started working at In Stride in 2017 and has worked in other allied health clinics too. Pauline was born and bred in Ascot Vale and fondly remembers when there was a corner milk bar, a movie theatre & Police Station all located right on Union Road.
Pauline has loved working at In Stride from the day she started. She reports she refers to the team as her work family.
When not working, Pauline enjoys making homemade candles and travelling with her husband. The highlight of her week is Wednesday night family dinners with her sons, their partners & beautiful granddaughters Poppy and Gracie.
Nicqui Merlino - Administration
Nicqui first joined the admin team at In Stride in 2009 for a few years and returned to In Stride in 2019. In between, she worked in events management which involved travelling all over Australia.
Nicqui has many talents including interior decorating, cooking (which the team benefit from weekly!) craft projects, travelling and she loves to shop.
Nicqui finds it exciting to see how In Stride has grown and loves working in the new premises on Epsom Road. Nicqui enjoys working with the wonderful team with a common goal of helping people and is proud to be a part of In Stride.
Liz Karipidis - Administration
Liz joined the admin team at In Stride in 2018. Prior to that, Liz has worked in several different health clinics and has an extensive career in pharmacy & hospitality including running a successful family cafe in Moonee Ponds.
Liz loves learning something new about Allied Health every day from our amazingly talented team. She enjoys creating a friendly welcoming environment for people going through their treatments and recovery.
Outside of work, Liz loves to spend time with her big family, reading, travelling the world & is a self proclaimed movie buff!
Bridie Pamment - Administration
Bridie joined In Stride in 2020. She studied English, Theatre & Ancient World Studies at the University of Melbourne, Classical Voice at the Melbourne Conservatorium of Music and supplemented her degrees with additional training in Acting and Musical Theatre. By night Bridie performs at venues all across Melbourne (lockdown-allowing), but by day she’s wearing one of her many hats - receptionist, medical administrator, social media manager or writer.
Bridie loves working at In Stride Health clinic because she loves being a part of a team that focuses on the health and wellbeing of our community. Also, our staff is filled with chefs, bakers and the best cuddlers around, so Bridie’s tummy and arms will never let her leave.
Outside of work Bridie plays the piano, practises yoga and exercises to unwind, she is a proud plant mum of the jungle that is her apartment, and she absolutely cannot wait until live music returns to Melbourne so we can all have a sweaty boogie together.
