In Stride Health Clinic changes to service in response to Covid-19 (Coronavirus)

Dear Clients of In Stride Health Clinic,

We hope that you are all well, our thoughts are with all of the In Stride community during this challenging time with the impact of the Covid-19 (Coronavirus) pandemic. We wanted to keep everyone updated with the ongoing changes that we are implementing to keep our clients, our staff and the wider community safe whilst we continue to provide important healthcare services. I would like to assure everyone that to this point we have not had any staff member present with any symptoms of the virus and have not had any patient notify us of a positive test or primary exposure. We have increased our already high hygiene practices amongst staff members, and are requesting the same practices from any persons that enter our practise. This includes respecting social distancing, washing hands before and after coming to the clinic and studio, using hand sanitiser provided and ensuring wiping all surfaces and equipment after use.

  • We request that any client who has been exposed to the Covid-19 virus contact us so that we can ensure that we can manage this appropriately.

  • Any client who is unwell, or has any symptoms of Covid-19 must call us in advance and must not come into the clinic or studio.

  • We are looking to have Telehealth sessions (video appointments) available from next week. If you are unwell, are an ‘at risk’ person (over 70 or with health issues), or you prefer not to come into the centre you will have the option of using this service. Further information will follow soon regarding this.

  • We recommend that all patients now bring their own towel to the studio and clinic for use on the beds.

  • For all 'at risk' patients we are also offering home visits from next week. Please call the clinic for further information.

  • Patients will be able to check in at reception and have the option of waiting outside or in the foyer for their appointment. Your practitioner will call you when their previous consult has finished. We are trying to stagger appointments to reduce numbers of clients in the clinic at one time but we want to avoid groups sitting in the waiting room.

  • At the pilates studio we have reduced the number of clients in each class and have spread clients over the day to allow for social distancing within the groups.

  • Please wait outside the studio for your class time to avoid clients sitting and waiting together inside. Your physio will call you in for your class.

  • We are looking at group video pilates mat classes. Especially for those clients who are isolated or at risk. We think that this could be a fun way for our clients that are either unable to or prefer not to attend the studio to remain connected and keep looking after their health. Please stay tuned for more information around this service, if you are interested in this, it could be worth ensuring that you have access to an exercise mat and theraball (fitball). We have some stocks of theraballs and theraband that we can make available as well.

This is an ever changing situation and we are closely following government guidelines and will aim to keep you updated. At this stage gyms and health facilities may still remain open and offer services as long as hygiene and social distance guidelines are maintained. For further information see the following link https://www.pm.gov.au/media/update-coronavirus-measures

We really thank all of our clients for their understanding if we need to move appointment times to be able to meet these guidelines.

We are thinking of you all, stay well, try to keep a routine and hope to see you soon.
